11-30-07 The taste we need -- Luke 1:4
... so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.
-- Luke 1:4
One night I watched part of a show on network television about faith. In one of the segments, a scientist hooked up electrodes to create brain activity that caused his subject to have a "spiritual experience." Some concluded from this that religion was nothing more than brain chemistry. Others concluded that God had "wired" our brains to respond to Him.
We must understand that God would have no difficulty proving His existence or anything else about Himself to anybody anytime He wants. There are no atheists among the demons (James 2:19). But He chooses to leave us in a world where we must taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8).
In our passage for today, Luke wanted us to be certain. The certainty that His gospel brings to us won't answer all our questions. But it will give us the taste we need to know that God is good.
Be encouraged!

"Quite some time ago, I used to ask God for an angel that could answer to all my questions. An angel for company and comfort. But not long ago, I started receiving your emails (Discoveries), honestly, I haven’t got a clue how or when did I sign up. The unthinkable is, every message you sent that I have read was exactly the answers I needed to face the situation at hand. Strange, right? But I really do think God answered my prayer. He sent me an angel through you. Your messages seem to be God’s words to me. Answering me, teaching me. I am grateful for this heavenly gift and I would like you to share this miracle I received from the Father."
"Your book is therapy for me . . . you have struck gold . . . there is "life" in your book. I found myself laughing and crying . . . I believe I saw what God must think of me ... "
